When we planned our trip to Amsterdam earlier this year, we didn’t necessarily plan it to be a big foodie destination, but we were not disappointed by anything we had there. It was so much fun getting to try all the traditional Dutch street foods, as well as some different things that we didn’t think we would find (like Indonesian food), and all the restaurants in between.
A few weeks ago, Thom from Flights Machine reached out to me to see if I’d like to try out their service, a travel deals site that helps you find cheap flights all over the US and abroad. I’ve tried a few similar services in the past but had yet to find one I loved, so I was excited to take their All Access plan for a whirl. After using it for the past few months, I can confidently say Flights Machine is the best one I’ve used and I’m excited to share my full review, since I often get asked how I afford to travel so much. Plane tickets are usually the most expensive part of any trip, especially if you’re going abroad, and the more money you can save there, the better. So, meet Flights Machine.
When we booked our trip to Amsterdam earlier this year, we weren’t sure what to expect. Neither Colby or I had ever been, but we had heard what an awesome city it was and we were excited to check it out! Looking back on it, I feel like we didn’t end up doing a ton there, but it definitely became one of my new favorite cities and Colby’s as well.

Last weekend, Colby and I snuck out of town on a little getaway to Conestoga Ranch in Bear Lake! This was my first time “glamping” and I was a bit apprehensive – after all, I love a good old fashioned camping trip in the woods so I wasn’t sure if this would really be up my alley. But we actually had a ton of fun and I have to say, there are some parts of glamping that I definitely wouldn’t mind having on all camping trips!
Bruges, Belgium (or Brugge) is a place I didn’t ever really plan on seeing. But when we were planning our trip to Europe and decided we wanted to do Paris and Amsterdam, it only made sense to make a stop in Belgium in between, and everyone recommended Bruges over Brussels. So, we booked some train tickets and made it happen, and I’m so glad we did!
