Before Colby and I went to the city, we knew the San Francisco food scene was good. We just didn’t know how good. Did you know that San Fran is one of only three U.S. cities that are rated by the Michelin Star? (New York City and Chicago are the other two.) We didn’t.
But, just like in Portland, we did quite a bit of research before we went – talking to locals, reading blogs and restaurant ratings, and asking people who have lived there. Still, we only skimmed the surface of what we could have eaten in San Fran. Here are our reviews, what we recommend, and what you could skip!
Pizzeria Delfina: ★★★★★
This was legitimately the best pizza either of us has ever had. I swear on my life that I could eat this every day for the rest of forever and it would never not be incredible. We heard we should get the margarita, which we did, but it was actually the panna that blew our minds. The sauce was made with cream, which is pure genius, and those white strips you see are a super high quality parmesano reggiano. Just talking about this is making my mouth water. The margarita was amazing as well and honestly the sauce was really what made this place so good. I feel like I never find places with such high quality pizza sauce. 10 out of 10 would eat again, and again, and again.
