As you may know, when we went to Los Angeles for a weekend a few weeks ago, we didn’t have anything planned and pretty much winged it most of the time – exploring the city, ducking into interesting shops, and taking it easy. We did end up doing some fun things (besides food & Harry Potter World), so I thought I’d make a little list so you can pick and choose for your next trip to La La Land!
This past weekend, Colby and I got back from our second trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in California, so I figured it’s high time I wrote a blog post about it. Even though this version of Harry Potter World isn’t as big or as detailed as the one in Florida (so I hear), it’s still amazing in its own right and I would still rather visit Hogwarts than Disneyland. It’s true.
The first time we went, in May 2016, it was just a month after the Hollywood Wizarding World had opened, and our second visit was just a few days ago (in February 2017). Our February trip was less crowded, but honestly, not by much. Both times we had an amazing experience and just like last time, I can’t wait to go back! So, let’s dive in!
When we went camping in the Redwoods last year, it was nothing like we expected it to be. For some reason, I was expecting lots of brown, dry trees and land that matched those trees, but when we showed up to a green, almost jungle-like landscape, I was surprised and delighted. The Redwoods are beautiful and the other scenery that surrounds them is just as impressive.
When Colby and I went to San Francisco for both of our first times last year, we did a lot of research about what we should do – everything from Pier 39 to Ghirardelli Square to Chinatown. But we also left some time free to wander, and that’s when we saw and did some of our favorite things. So if you haven’t seen or didn’t know about some of these, make sure you add them to your list next time you’re in the bay!
